A Drop of Hope. UNICEF | Afghanistan
Feroza has been a nutrition nurse at Kisaw District Hospital in Daikundi for eight years. For the 30,000 people living in surrounding districts, this hospital is a lifeline. But for years, it had no reliable water inside its wards.
Without clean water, infection prevention is impossible. And without infection prevention, the fight against malnutrition cannot be won.
With support from Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, WASH upgrades across 25 health and nutrition centres in Daikundi and Paktia are now giving over 439 health workers access to safe water inside facilities, benefiting more than 678,000 people across the catchment areas.
