In this video, Martha Piedrasanta and Mary Tereszkiewcz from Lutheran World Relief’s Quilt & Kit Ministry share helpful tips and guidelines for assembling Fabric Kits. These kits help our neighbors gain valuable skills that can lead to a stable income and a brighter future. What’s in a Fabric Kit? - Each Fabric Kit must include TWO PIECES of fabric of only cotton or cotton blend fabric — no knit or 100% polyester. The two pieces don’t need to be the same size, color, or pattern. Each fabric piece must be a continuous cut that matches one of the following size options: 2¼ yards of 58”– 62" wide fabric 3 yards of 42”– 45" wide fabric 4 yards of 34”– 37" wide fabric - You’ll also need to include at least TWO SPOOLS of general-purpose thread, with a total of 500 to 800 yards between them. One spool should match one of the fabrics as closely as possible, and the other should be a neutral color—like white, beige, black, or gray.
