The Global Project “Promotion of Agricultural Finance for Agri-Based Enterprises in Rural Areas” (GP AgFin), implemented on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is enhancing access to financial services for farmers and agri-businesses across Zambia.
Since 2016, GP AgFin has partnered with VisionFund Zambia to expand agricultural lending through targeted staff training and the development of six tailored loan products for the dairy, horticulture and crop value chains.
To support farmers in building climate resilience, Climate Risk Insurance has been successfully integrated into the loan portfolio, helping mitigate the impact of climate shocks.
VisionFund Zambia staff have also been trained in agricultural value chains and finance - ensuring sustainable service delivery to rural clients.
This video shows how tailored financial products and strong institutional partnerships are transforming livelihoods and driving long-term resilience in Zambia’s agricultural sector.
