The Global Project "Promotion of Agricultural Finance for Agri-Based Enterprises in Rural Areas" (GP AgFin), implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is transforming how small-scale farmers in Zambia understand, manage, and access finance. In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, GP AgFin developed the Farmer Financial Cycle (FFC) training - a practical, easy-to-understand tool that equips farmers with the skills to manage their money, plan ahead and grow their businesses. Since 2016, over 18,000 farmers and agri-enterprises across five provinces have participated in FFC trainings. As of January 2025, more than 13,600 of these participants have successfully accessed financial services, contributing to a total financial volume of €20.9 million provided by the banks.
🎥 Watch the video to see how this capacity-building initiative is equipping farmers with the knowledge and tools to thrive driving rural development and improving livelihoods across Zambia.
