At a press conference this week, President Donald Trump announced the launch of a government website aimed at lowering prescription drug prices. It’s called TrumpRx. The site allows people to search for the cash price of prescription drugs. It warns, “This is an out-of-pocket price. If you have insurance, check your co-pay first — it may be even lower.” It currently lists 43 medications, including weight loss drugs, infertility treatments, inhalers, and insulin. Experts say many of the drugs are widely covered by insurance or available as cheaper generics.
