RFK Jr. Says Infants Don't Need Hepatitis B Vaccine
While testifying Thursday on Capitol Hill, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said removing the hepatitis B vaccine from the childhood immunization schedule was the right call. The vaccine, recommended for newborns since the early 1990s, has helped reduce childhood infections of the virus in the U.S. from around 16,000 cases in 1991 to only seven in 2023. The three-dose vaccine has a long track record of safety, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
