SLPI implementation by LASR consortium in Subulussalam, Aceh

In the westernmost part of Indonesia lies the Leuser–Alas Singkil River Basin (LASR), a landscape rich in biodiversity and deeply connected to the lives of local communities. Through the Sustainable Landscape Program Indonesia (SLPI), communities, government, and the private sector are working together to protect forests, support sustainable agriculture, and improve livelihoods. From village forests in Pasir Belo to customary forests in Singgersing, and from smallholder farmers to sustainable palm oil companies, this journey shows that protecting nature and improving prosperity can go hand in hand. This video documents a field visit by the Governments of Indonesia and Switzerland to the LASR landscape to see firsthand the progress and collaboration built through SLPI since 2023. Because a sustainable future is built together — by communities, for the next generations. SLPI — Together for the Planet and People.
