MSME Success Story Ghana | Festa Adu Darko | GIZ PFS Programme (2024)

his video features Festa Adu Darko, one of 410 micro and small businesses supported through our business coaching and Adwumaye initiative under GIZ’s Support to the Private and Financial Sector (PFS) Programme in Ghana. After receiving expert guidance, honing her skills in catering, and providing access to start up tools, skills, Festa was able to start her pizza business, which happens to be the only pizza joint in Atebubu in the Bono East region of Ghana. Her experience reflects the real, human impact of targeted support for entrepreneurs working hard to grow their businesses. Festa’s story is part of a broader journey. Between 2023 and 2025, the PFS Programme reached over 6,000 MSMEs across Ghana and created or maintained more than 2,000 jobs, contributing to inclusive economic growth and sustainable livelihoods. The PFS Programme is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-funded by the European Union, and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, in collaboration with national partners.
