WHA79 Side Event "Does Your Health System Struggle with Lung Health Screening?"

Health systems worldwide are struggling to scale up lung health screening, despite the transformative potential of chest X-ray, digital technologies, and AI. Co-hosted by the Ministries of Health of India, Japan, the Philippines, and Zambia, together with the Stop TB Partnership, this session brings together Ministers of Health, global experts, and private sector leaders to address key barriers—including workforce shortages, regulatory constraints, and the underuse of existing tools. The discussion highlights practical, scalable solutions already expanding access to tuberculosis (TB) and lung disease detection, such as task-shifting, AI-supported screening, and public–private partnerships. Watch to explore how countries can accelerate impact, strengthen health systems, and move closer to Ending TB and achieving Universal Health Coverage.
