The ICOS Atmosphere Thematic Centre (ATC) is one of ICOS' three thematic centres together with the Ecosystem and Ocean Thematic Centres in other countries. The ATC serves and coordinates the 47 ICOS atmosphere stations around the globe. There is a good geographical coverage of stations in order to get reliable greenhouse gas emission data from all across Europe. The ATC processes the raw data collected by the station instruments - the data must be calibrated, validated and quality checked. The ATC is also concerned with the quality and precision of the instruments used at the stations, and offers continuous support and training for the atmosphere station personnel. ICOS has a range of greenhouse gas measurement stations all across Europe.
