Help that comes at the right time: how early intervention services work
Snizhana, a single mother of three, lives in a remote village in Mykolaiv region. She noticed that her eldest daughter, 3-year-old Anastasia, had a speech delay and her younger kids also had some developmental delays, and realised she needed professional support.
The family started receiving support from an early intervention team of the charitable foundation ‘Winds of Change’ that helps children under four with developmental delays and their families overcome these challenges and develop essential skills that need to be mastered in early childhood.
This social service was introduced in the Bashtanka community thanks to the grants support under the UK government's #SPIRIT Programme. Its goal is to improve social services for families with children who are most in need.
