In the 1970s OECD countries committed to set clear principles for cross-border investment, based on non-discrimination, transparency and responsible business conduct through the OECD Declaration on International Investment and Multinational Enterprises. Today, the Declaration brings together 52 adherents - including all 38 OECD Members and 14 partner countries. It continues to guide policymakers in facilitating international investment and responsible business conduct, taking into account key considerations such as sustainability, digital transformation and national security.
