On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we share the powerful stories of migrant workers who have faced GBV and found refuge in Caritas shelters. In partnership with Caritas Denmark and with funding from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this initiative highlights the journey from victim to survivor, demonstrating the critical role shelters play in offering comprehensive support to help survivors rebuild their lives. In addition to immediate basic assistance, Caritas shelters are a place of healing and empowerment, offering psychosocial support where survivors can begin to process their trauma in a safe environment and regain their sense of dignity and self-worth. Beyond survival needs, Caritas shelters provide empowering activities designed to help migrant workers build the confidence and abilities needed to become independent. This work would not be possible without the generosity of the donor, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the partnership with Caritas Denmark. With this funding, Caritas Lebanon is able to support several of the Caritas Women Shelters transforming lives and empowering survivors to break free from the cycle of violence. @udenrigsministeriet @caritasdenmark في اليوم العالمي للقضاء على العنف ضد المرأة، كجزء من حملة الـ 16 يومًا من النشاط ضد العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي، نشارك قصص عاملات مهاجرات تعرضن للعنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي ووجدن ملاذًا في ملاجئ كاريتاس. بالتعاون مع كاريتاس الدنمارك وبدعم من وزارة الشؤون الخارجية الدنماركية، تسلط هذه المبادرة الضوء على رحلة النجاة، مبرزة الدور الحاسم الذي تلعبه الملاجئ في تقديم الدعم الشامل لمساعدة الناجيات على إعادة بناء حياتهن. بالإضافة إلى المساعدة الأساسية الفورية، تعتبر ملاجئ كاريتاس مكانًا للشفاء وتمكين الذات، حيث تقدم الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي الذي يمكن للناجيات من خلاله البدء في معالجة صدماتهن في بيئة آمنة واستعادة شعورهن بالكرامة. تتجاوز الملاجئ احتياجات البقاء على قيد الحياة، حيث توفر أنشطة تمكينية تهدف إلى مساعدة العاملات المهاجرات على بناء الثقة والقدرات اللازمة للاستقلال الذاتي. لن يكون هذا العمل ممكنًا بدون سخاء المتبرعين، ووزارة الشؤون الخارجية الدنماركية، والشراكة مع كاريتاس الدنمارك. من خلال هذا التمويل، تستطيع كاريتاس لبنان دعم العديد من ملاجئ كاريتاس المخصصة لاستقبال النساء والأطفال، مما يمنح الناجيات القوة لكسر دائرة العنف.
