Youth strategies from informal settlements: voices from the Philippines
Despite the scepticism towards youth involvement, young people from the Homeless People’s Federation in the Philippines are organising themselves to get their voices heard in urban and housing processes. Their actions seek to trigger deep processes of transformation through youth empowerment.
This video was produced by HPFPI for an exchange organised in 2025 by the housing justice team at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), as part of the 'Neighbourhoods Fit for Diverse Young People: Civic Media Practices and Urban Claims Making in Nepal and India (YCIV)' project, and facilitated through partners of the Hub for Housing Justice.
