16 Days of Activism 2024 - Towards 30 Years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action
16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence message by the UNDP Liberia Resident Representative a.i - Anthony Ohemeng-Boamah.
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual global campaign that begins on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and concludes on December 10, Human Rights Day.
This year’s campaign offers a crucial opportunity to revitalize commitments as the world approaches the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in 2025.
This is a moment to reflect, as we face the stark reality that progress on the elimination of gender-based violence has been painfully slow, and in some cases, even reversed.
The Beijing conference resulted in a visionary blueprint for achieving gender equality and women’s and girls’ rights everywhere and allow them to live lives free from gender-based violence.
