This year’s campaign offers a crucial opportunity to revitalize commitments as the world approaches the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in 2025. This is a moment to reflect, as we face the stark reality that progress on the elimination of gender-based violence has been painfully slow, and in some cases, even reversed. The Beijing conference resulted in a visionary blueprint for achieving gender equality and women’s and girls’ rights everywhere and allow them to live lives free from gender-based violence.
