Every morning, 16-year-old Luciana leaves her home in the Comas district of Peru with a clear vision: to demonstrate that girls and adolescents can and should take leadership roles to change their lives and challenge the issues that affect them, such as violence and gender stereotypes. After joining Plan International's Training Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs project, she took part in workshops to learn entrepreneurial skills such as identifying strengths and weaknesses, teamwork, financial literacy and business planning. Participants were then encouraged to come up with a new business idea. "The message I would give to my colleagues and other students is to never give up on pursuing your dreams, especially if you have that desire to start a business. Rely on your skills and also on the skills of your colleagues," says Luciana.
