UNSDG Global Shared Services: Payroll & HR Benefits and Entitlement Services to UN System – by UNDP
The webinar organized by UN DCO on behalf of the UNSDG Business Innovation Group, introduced the UNDP Global Shared Services (GSS), focusing on its role in providing HR administration, and Payroll services to UN agencies worldwide.
The GSSC aims to increase efficiency, standardize processes, and enable agencies to focus on their core mandates by offering scalable, secure, and compliant services, including support in multiple languages and coverage in 170 countries. The session highlighted the use of advanced technologies like Oracle Cloud ERP (Quantum) and ServiceNow (UNO), as well as the integration of AI to automate tasks and enhance service delivery.
The presenters emphasized that GSSC serves not only UNDP but also over 60 partner agencies, processing large volumes of HR and payroll transactions, including in challenging contexts with fragile banking systems. The service is client-oriented, system-agnostic, and adaptable to different agency needs, with a strong focus on risk mitigation, data security, and continuous improvement. The webinar also addressed questions about cost structures, service modalities, and the benefits of consolidating shared services across the UN system.
