World Refugee Day 2026: Expanding Access for Migrants and Refugees in Egypt
Egypt hosts more than 10 million migrants and refugees, making access to essential services a national priority.
Ahead of #WorldRefugeeDay, UN Resident Coordinator Elena Panova highlights how a joint programme in Egypt is helping expand access to education, healthcare and protection services for migrants, refugees and host communities.
The programme has reached more than 300,000 students through education, supported healthcare access for over 200,000 people, and provided protection services to approximately 150,000 vulnerable migrants and refugees.
This is what collective action looks like in practice.
