On 1 June 2026, the Secretary-General addressed the ECOSOC Operational Activities for Development Segment in New York, presenting his report on the UN development system and the progress made since the 2018 reforms. The remarks focused on the strengthened Resident Coordinator system, improved coordination across UN Country Teams, greater alignment with national priorities, and the need to bring the next phase of reform forward through the UN80 Initiative.
