In response to Hantavirus cases identified on a vessel in the Atlantic, the United Nations team in hashtag CaboVerde, led by the World Health Organization, has been providing critical support to the Cabo Verdean government. The team's multifaceted approach includes: • Logistics: Supporting the medical evacuation of three patients to the Netherlands. • Technical Support: Assisting with case investigations, lab work, and infection prevention. • Communications: Implementing public outreach and crisis communication strategies. While the WHO assesses the overall public health risk as low, this situation highlights the vital importance of coordination, particularly in times of crises, to ensure that our work reaches communities quickly and effectively.
