On this International Day Of Families, we are highlighting the Jolla family in Belsh, Albania. Aldo Jolla and his family transformed their land into a thriving, modern olive oil business that prioritizes both people and the planet. By partnering with over 500 local farmers and implementing solar-powered, circular production methods, the Jollas are proving that local family businesses are essential to achieving the Global Goals. This transformation was made possible through a joint partnership of the UN team involving UNDP, UNIDO, FAO, ILO and DPPA, with the support of the Government of Sweden. When families have the tools to thrive, communities prosper and economies grow.
