In Swansea, an Oxfam bookshop recognised as a Place of Sanctuary has become a regular meeting place for people seeking asylum and for refugees. People come here to volunteer, spend time together, and get to know each other. Over time, it has become more than a shop, while also supporting communities around the world. People from different backgrounds share the same space. Conversations happen, and a sense of community begins to grow. “I met people who are in the same circumstances.
