Oxfam in Mozambique are supporting the communities affected by the floods in Gaza province. Tavonga takes us along but on the way to one of the distribution points, one of our trucks got stuck and with the help of the local leadership and local community members, we were able to complete our work. 19 March 2026. Communities in southern Mozambique are facing severe flooding after days of heavy rain. Many families have lost their belongings, and some remain trapped in rapidly rising waters. Homes, crops, and livelihoods have been destroyed. Oxfam in Mozambique is on the ground in Gaza Province responding to the impacts of floods, ensuring dignity and health to affected families through the distribution of WASH kits. Because of the recent floods, they had to leave their homes and find refuge in the centre.
