Stripmining the Seas The Rise of Deep Sea Drifting in the Pacific

A documentary on the destructiveness of the "driftnet" fishing technology. In 1983, Japanese driftnet ships caught and killed an enormous toll of untargetted marine animals such as turtles and dolphins, which were usually disposed of at sea. Earthtrust, an International Wildlife Protection Organisation, sent out a crew of researchers to document and inform the public on the destructiveness of this fishing technology.
