Reporting War Crimes Trials in Ukraine: Tetyana and Elmira
After 70% of Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine was occupied by Russian forces, reporting on war crimes became the life's work of journalists Elmira and Tetyana.
Without prior experience in court reporting, they had to learn quickly, from understanding international law to navigating the ethics of documenting trauma.
Through IWPR’s training, they gained the support, mentorship and legal insight needed to report responsibly on these cases.
Their work makes justice visible, ensuring victims’ stories are heard and not forgotten.
