Financing Development in an Era of Extreme of Inequality
Our current moment is marked by extreme inequality, sovereign debt crises, shrinking development assistance, and upheaval in global trade. Private finance is described as a “trillion-dollar illusion”.
We must ask:
How do we transform finance development in this era of unprecedented inequality?
How do we rethink forms of multilateral cooperation?
Join Oxfam and Club de Madrid for a high-level panel on the sidelines of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) as we explore the consensus shifts that the current development financial system needs - with the political leaders, scholars, and civil society voices at the fore of this effort.
The panel, moderated by Cameron Abadi (Deputy Editor, Foreign Policy Magazine), will feature:
H.E. Javiera Toro Cáceres (Minister of Social Development and Family of Chile)
Dr. Aminata Touré (Member and Board of Directors, Club de Madrid; former Prime Minister of Senegal; High Representative of the Senegalese President)
Dr. Bärbel Kofler (Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany)
Professor Daniela Gabor (Professor of Economics at SOAS University of London)
