The tech industry and the national security community
This session explored how intelligence communities use technology to improve collection and analysis, and how government can collaborate with the private sector. Some companies are happy to become attached to government agencies of their home country and provide them with capabilities, while closing off their options of selling to foreign governments, especially potential rivals. The session considered how companies can position themselves in an open market while also taking a national interest or even patriotic perspective.
The session featured Steve Bowsher, Chief Executive Officer, IQT and was moderated by Dr Sacha Babuta, Director of the Centre for Emerging Technology and Security at the Alan Turing Institute.
