Technology is increasingly central to geopolitical competition, but what does that mean in practice? This session examined the strategic forces shaping global competition, including the contest between a broadly democratic West, still led by the United States despite shifts in its global role, and a more revisionist authoritarian model led by China. Andrew Shearer, Director-General of the Office of National Intelligence, explored the major geopolitical trends influencing national security, strategic competition and the future international order.
