Nanay Nelia Boiser is an 81 year old coconut farmer who was struggling with the rising cost of fertilizer. Over the last two years, she has been working with Grameen to increase her crop yields despite losing land to flooding and the high cost of supplies. One change Grameen suggested was to utilize coconut husks as fertilizer. The results have been tremendous. Even though she was hesitant at first, she trusted Grameen enough to make the change and she’s so glad she did.
