Through the Vanuatu Green Transformation Project (VGET) Phase 1, funded by the Government of Japan and implemented by UNDP in partnership with the Government of Vanuatu, public facilities in remote communities are now powered by clean, renewable energy from three pico-hydro power stations.
With 24/7 electricity reaching schools, health facilities, and public institutions, communities are gaining access to better services, improved learning environments, safer healthcare, and the foundations for future digital connectivity and government e-services in remote areas of Vanuatu.
This is more than electrification. It is an investment in opportunity, resilience, and a more connected future for rural communities across the Pacific.
