In 2024, the Americas faced the worst dengue fever outbreak on record — with over 13 million reported cases and more than 8,000 lives lost. To help stop the spread, the European Union provided €1.5 million in humanitarian aid to support the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and national health authorities in the most affected countries.
