Who Is AI Being Built For? Children Must Be Part of the Answer | UNICEF

Children make up roughly one in three internet users worldwide, and they are adopting AI faster than adults. AI is now embedded in almost every major app and platform children use, and it is reshaping their lives across the board, from how they learn, play and develop, to the information they trust, the services they rely on, and the careers ahead of them. Yet children remain among the least recognised groups in the governance frameworks now being built. AI is here and already shaping childhood; wishing it away is not a strategy. Follow UNICEF to understand AI’s immediate and long-range implications for children, see how we engage children directly, and work with those who design, deploy and regulate AI so that children are placed at its centre.
