Localisation and strategic partnerships with local actors and children are key to achieving our breakthroughs—ensuring every child survives, learns, and is protected. Through localisation, we empower local organisations to champion children’s rights and respond to both development and humanitarian needs. Halima Hussein, Programme Coordinator at Womankind Kenya, shares how Save the Children’s localisation agenda has helped strengthen their technical, organisational, and relational capacities—empowering them to work towards financial independence and effectively respond to humanitarian crises. We’re also enhancing the visibility of local actors by publicly recognising their contributions through reports and media—acknowledging their pivotal role in humanitarian response.
