From Roots to Riches: The Chandra Surya Turmeric Journey

Discover the inspiring journey of Chandra Surya Turmeric, produced by Safal Cooperative in Bhateri, Ward 29 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan. What began with just 200-300 kgs of turmeric processed using a small traditional 'Okhal' machine has grown into a modern turmeric processing center with a daily capacity of 1,000 kgs. This video showcases the complete process of making high-quality turmeric powder from organic farming and fair sourcing from local farmers to hygienic washing, slicing, boiling, electric drying, and packaging. The center produces fresh turmeric seeds, dried slices, and turmeric powder in 200g and 500g packs, marketed under the Chandra Surya Turmeric Powder brand. Supported by the IALVC Project and Heifer International Nepal, the cooperative promotes organic, sustainable farming while empowering women farmers through training and skill development. Chandra Surya Turmeric is available in local markets, health food stores, and through Safal’s distribution network, with a growing presence in international export markets. Watch how Safal Cooperative is adding value, strengthening communities, and delivering pure, organic turmeric from farm to market.
