This video highlights how farmers in Pyuthan are transforming their agricultural practices through market management, commercialization, and financial support initiatives. In the past, selling even a few kilograms of vegetables was a struggle, farmers had to carry their produce village to village, and much of it would rot before reaching buyers. With proper market management in place, along with support from Heifer, the municipality, and local cooperatives, farmers now have access to fair prices, minimum support pricing, and organized markets that prevent losses and encourage production. Through initiatives like Heifer’s Access to Finance (A2F) program, farmers are able to access loans for agriculture and animal husbandry, enabling them to expand production, improve commercialization, and achieve financial stability. These efforts have increased confidence, yields, and improved livelihoods, showing how collaboration between farmers, cooperatives, and organizations can create lasting change.
