🚨 The current Chair's proposed draft text for the Global #PlasticsTreaty is nothing short of unacceptable. In trying to appease low-ambition states, this text has sacrificed every meaningful protection the Ocean desperately need. What elements have been lost in the current text: ❌ Production reduction measures ❌ Bans on harmful chemicals ❌ Binding decision-making processes ❌ Ghost gear provisions - completely erased The petrochemical lobby's influence is unmistakable. They've successfully watered down every binding measure that could have made a real difference. The next hours are critical. 100+ ambitious countries must stand united and reject this text. The EU, Switzerland, and other ocean champions have the power to demand better - they must use it NOW. Our marine ecosystems can't wait for "maybe someday" solutions. They need binding protection today.
