🌊 Can we design buildings to withstand tsunamis? In the lab, engineers are proving that we can. Tiziana Rossetto, Professor in Natural Hazards Engineering TU Delft, The Netherlands, and other researchers have built a tsunami simulator that recreates powerful waves at scale — helping us understand how tsunamis impact buildings, infrastructure, and coastal defences. Using pressure sensors and model structures, the simulator reveals how wave forces interact with the built environment — offering critical insights to engineers, architects, and disaster risk experts around the world.
