Early warnings save lives: Building a world protected from disasters | UNDRR

🌍 Every second counts when disaster strikes. From storms and floods to heatwaves, early warnings turn risk into action — saving lives and protecting livelihoods. Across the world, multi-hazard early warning systems (MHEWS) are helping countries prepare and act before disasters hit. These systems connect science, technology, and communities to ensure that no one is left behind. 🔹 Countries with stronger early warning systems have death rates nearly six times lower than those without. 🔹 Over 60% of countries now have MHEWS in place — but more work is needed to reach everyone. To achieve #EarlyWarningsForAll, we need: ✅ Stronger governance and sustained financing ✅ Local, people-centred approaches ✅ Cooperation across borders and sectors Because early warnings are more than technology — they are a lifeline. Together, we can ensure every person on earth is protected. #EarlyWarningsForAll #UNDRR #MHEWS
