UPU Regional Development Plan: Carribean

How can Caribbean postal networks adapt to growing challenges while strengthening resilience and regional cooperation? In this video, Pooran Parampath, UPU Caribbean and Capacity Development Expert, discusses the main challenges and opportunities shaping postal development in the Caribbean, from small and fragmented markets and high logistics costs to climate vulnerability, skills gaps and the need to strengthen digital operations, e-commerce and modern logistics capabilities. The Caribbean Development Plan aims to build on the region’s strong culture of resilience and service by reinforcing capacity building, strengthening coordination and expanding shared regional solutions. It also focuses on deepening collaboration with regional institutions and development partners to better support member countries across the islands. With a strong emphasis on resilience, cooperation and practical implementation, the plan seeks to strengthen the postal sector’s ability to deliver for communities, improve service quality and support sustainable development across the Caribbean.
