Green Innovation Hub - empowering young minds for building a sustainable tomorrow | CLIMB project

This video highlights the establishment of a Green Innovation Hub at Upokuliyo High School, Jaliapalong Union, Ukhiya supported by the CLIMB project. The hub serves as a knowledge center where students learn about climate change, its negative impacts, and practical ways to address them. Through this hub, students explore different climate-smart methods and apply their learning in the school’s climate-smart garden. Teachers and students work together in this green innovation hub and library, fostering awareness, innovation, and action for a more climate-resilient future. CARE Bangladesh is implementing Community Led Innovation for Climate Risk Mitigation in Bangladesh (CLIMB), a four-year program in the southeast coastal region of Bangladesh, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (DANIDA). The program aims to reduce the current and future dependence of host and Rohingya communities on timber and forest-based resources for livelihoods and cooking fuel by introducing climate-smart agriculture, green livelihoods, and renewable energy solutions. Through these humanitarian innovations, including nature-based solutions, the program seeks to strengthen climate resilience and reduce potential conflict risks in Ukhiya Upazila, Cox’s Bazar. The project will benefit a total of 3,860 individuals (51% women and 49% men) from both camp and host communities.
