Follow a day in the life of Hardianto, known as Panut, the leader of the Sejahtera Jaya Farmer Group in Aceh, Indonesia. A farmer at heart, Panut is also a leader who has inspired local youth to see farming as a viable and meaningful livelihood. Together, they formed a farmer group to reclaim and manage previously abandoned land. The group cultivates cucumbers, chilies, long beans, and spinach. With support from Earthworm Foundation, they have improved land management and irrigation systems, reduced chemical fertiliser use, and restored soil health, resulting in a 70% increase in yields and strengthening both productivity and sustainability. The Aceh landscape is financially supported by Hershey, Mars Inc., Nestlé, ADM Cares, Avril Group, Bunge, Colgate-Palmolive, The Clorox Company, General Mills, Givaudan, Clariant, Fuji Oil, and Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
