How radio is bridging the gap between small-scale farmers and policymakers to address climate change

The Nature-based Solutions project brings farmers, community leaders, climate experts, and policymakers together to harness the power of radio storytelling. Through collaborative documentaries, local voices shape the narrative — sharing lived experiences, climate knowledge, and nature-based solutions rooted in the land. By amplifying rural perspectives and broadcasting them far beyond their communities, Farm Radio International bridges the gap between grassroots on-the-ground realities and decision-makers, using radio as a tool for inclusion, dialogue, and climate action. This documentary was produced by John McGill, Doreen Ainembabazi, and Brenda Mugwisagye Murangi. The Nature-based Solutions project is funded with support from Global Affairs Canada.
