Transform Health’s International Women’s Day 2026 webinar

To mark #InternationalWomensDay, Transform Health, along with African Women in Digital Health (AWiDH), the GIRL Center Population Council and health.enabled, convened a global webinar exploring how digital health transformation can better support gender equity, particularly for adolescent girls and young women. Bringing together leaders from civil society, research and advocacy organisations, the discussion examined how gender dynamics shape access to digital technologies, health services and data systems. Speakers emphasised that while digital innovation offers significant opportunities to strengthen health systems, it can also replicate existing inequalities if gender considerations are not integrated into design, policy and governance. The panel highlighted several priorities for ensuring digital health works for women and girls: closing digital access gaps, strengthening gender-responsive data systems, designing technologies that reflect the needs of young women and ensuring meaningful participation of women and youth in decision-making.
