On 23 January 2026, Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Minister for Foreign Affairs of #Iceland, took the floor at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva during its special session on the deteriorating human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

She spoke on behalf of Germany, North Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and her country Iceland.
