Rooted: Scaling Up of Public Investments in Agriculture
The Scaling Up of Public Investments in Agriculture (SUPIA II) Project, implemented by ActionAid Nigeria and ActionAid International, is focused on promoting and scaling up public investments in agriculture — both political and budget commitments — to drive inclusive and lasting agricultural transformation at the State, National, and Continental levels.
In Nigeria, the project is being implemented across eight states: Bauchi, Gombe, Ondo, Kwara, Kogi, Ebonyi, Delta States, and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as at the national level. At the continental level, ActionAid International is engaging regional and continental institutions to strengthen agricultural accountability and inclusive policy processes.
At its core, SUPIA II works to catalyse increased quantity and improved quality of public investment in agriculture by strengthening citizen participation in evidence-based policymaking. By supporting smallholder farmers — particularly women — to understand, engage, and influence agricultural budget and policy processes, the project contributes to improved productivity, stronger livelihoods, and enhanced well-being.
This video shows some of the impact, the voices, and the progress made through collective advocacy and action toward a more inclusive agricultural system.
