Pathways towards globally fair biodiversity conservation - implementing the new Global Biodiversity Framework A Joint TMG Research and ZUG Event During the 15th Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), an ambitious agreement was negotiated to protect the diversity of life on this planet: the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). Within this Framework, the Parties to the Convention formulated a total of 23 targets, which aim to stop species extinction and restore ecosystems. To achieve this, the signatories aim to place 30% of the world’s lands and oceans under protection by 2030. Clearly, these goals can only be achieved by a general overhaul of the global biodiversity conservation to make it more inclusive and fair.
