What It Really Takes for Families to Thrive
While there are plenty of organizations and services that exist to help families across the U.S., they are often confusing or difficult to navigate, and may not be responsive to the needs of families. As a result, when families seek healthcare, childcare, and financial support, they find systems that are often disconnected and undermined by harmful biases. This places the burden on families to create a patchwork of support for themselves and their baby.
Despite these challenges, communities are finding ways to connect moms and families with the tools, resources, and support they need to have healthy pregnancies and births and to ensure healthy development for their children.
We also have an opportunity to transform the broad systems that serve families and children. By working to shapesupport and connect the health care, child care, and financial support systems so they’re designed to respond to the complex needs of all families, we can help ensure that every family has the opportunity to give their children a strong, healthy start.
