A virtual side event hosted by HDRO at the 57th UN Statistical Commission, titled "Human Development in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Indices and Global Insights from New Data" Drawing on insights from the 2025 Human Development Report, “A Matter of Choice: People and Possibilities in the Age of AI,” the session: - Examined the statistical foundations of people-centred indices such as the Human Development Index (HDI); - Shared global findings on AI and human capabilities (#HDR2025); - Presented results from UNDP’s 2025 Global Survey on AI and Human Development, capturing public perspectives across 21 countries; - Showcased the Human Climate Horizons platform and demonstrate how its data can be integrated with traditional #HumanDevelopment measures to inform policy.
