On 26 March 2026, the International Diabetes Federation hosted this online event: “One year to go: Inside the Diabetes Atlas 12th edition – from evidence to advocacy”.
This webinar provided an opportunity to learn about the methodology behind the development of the Atlas and its potential as a powerful advocacy and policy tool. From data collection and critical appraisal to modelling, validation and expert review, this webinar highlighted the scientific rigour behind the Atlas estimates. Speakers also explored the challenges, data gaps and innovations involved in producing each edition, promoting greater transparency and understanding of how the estimates should be interpreted and used responsibly.
