This explainer video is part of a series showcasing how the World Food Programme (WFP) supports communities across the Sahel to build resilience in the face of growing challenges. The video focuses on Food Assistance for Assets (FFA), an approach that meets immediate food needs while helping communities invest in their future. Through FFA, communities work together on activities such as land restoration, water harvesting, irrigation systems, and the construction of storage infrastructure. These efforts help restore degraded land, improve food systems, and strengthen livelihoods. As a result, communities can increase agricultural production, diversify income sources, and reduce their long-term dependence on humanitarian assistance.
